Help... removing soft top with frame

Well I read instructions I found online but I've missed something big. Put top in service mode. Undid these

Then undid these boltshttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1509557994.jpg
And it said it should pull back and up. I dont know why I didnt think about where it attaches here

Someone know where I go from here? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks

I replaced my 2002 top with a 2004 OEM top with glass rear window a few years ago.
I followed the instructions from these links and it was a quick and easy project. I don't recall specifics, but these links should give you what you need to remove your top and frame.

Thanks but that didn't help. I've got about everything done except what's in that bottom pic on earlier post.
It's all is loose but under that covered arm piece I think. All the instructions seem to not mention that part.

Look on each side where you remove 3 bolts....there may also be a black Phillip s head screw. The part you showed up front, close to the Bpillar is part of the top assembly and does not attach to the car.

Ok I took out the bolts, screws and unhooked the cables. That's it? It should come out now?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1509579461.jpg

There actually might be 2 Phillips head screws on each side near the 3 larger bolts,,, I think my car had them. If you got the 3 large bolts (circled red), these screws (blue arrows), and the ball/socket connections, it should be ready to take out.
Pic from Boxtaboy's instructions showing the 2 screws:

Yep did all that. Must be because I'm trying it by myself. Probably ought to get some help. Doesn't seem to want to budge. Seemed attached in the front

Thank you very much!

Is there a trick to getting it out? I've tried lifting this arm up or even move it and it doesn't seem to budge on either side.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1509582351.jpg

Got it. This is actually a 2 person job. It is stuck in there pretty tight. I can lift it through with one person it gets wedged in there. I'll get some help and get it out tomorrow.

Thanks again

I'm interested to know if the dash light for the top stays on with the top removed, or if the switch to turn off the dash light is activated when the rear body cover is down. /thanks

OK as far as I can tell the top light goes out when you lower what's left of the clamshell. Don't know about the trunk light because I dont have the hatch installed yet but I'm assuming it will go out also when hatch is closed.
My battery is dead this morning even though I removed the trunk light.

iirc, you can also remove the soft top relay.

I also used this and removed it under 2hours with several breaks to reference pictures and read steps.

It takes a bit of wiggling. I removed my plastic top and frame on my own and didn't scratch anything. I'm short and not strong either . Take your time and it will come out
