Aftermarket remote

I installed an aftermarket remote fob lock/unlocking system on my 2003 Boxster.

I used the instructions that i found here or Renn....

works, but funky.

It locks fine, but will not unlock.

I followed the instructions in the posts on this site and tapped into the lock and unlock wires under the driver's seat and installed the new unit there.

It works great......locks and unlocks properly when pressing the appropriate buttons.
Walk away and leave it for say 1/2 hours and it will not unlock with the remote. I have to put the key in the door to unlock the car. It unlocks fine and then the alarm will go off in 30 seconds or so. Have to get the key in and turned to turn off the alarm.

Any ideas what is going on? I feel like I am hooked up to the proper unlock wire.

Anyone have this problem?

Thanks.

Yeah, this problem crops ups sometimes. I would suggest testing the wires for the door lock cylinder to make sure you are using those. The car shouldn't know the difference between the aftermarket unit and a key turning in the door.

THANKS. Makes sense.

I will look into that.
