Door speaker question

Hey,

I did a bit of googling, but couldn't find any answer to this so I figured I'd ask here.

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the door speakers *without* having to remove the entire door panel? (i.e. just removing the speaker grille and mount a replacement speaker)

No.

Look at this, particularly figure 4.

It is not possible. The plastic grill area does not snap into the panel...it is one assembly.

Don't let it stop you though....
Removing the door panel is very straight forward and takes 5-10 minutes, even if you haven't done it before.

Follow the link provided for screw locations, otherwise you will I'll bet you don't find a screw. Lol...I know I didn't, and resorted to google.

Ever since I swapped in the 996 cab amp the boosted bass frequently causes the door speakers to vibrate audibly. Anyone know how to fix that?

They may need to be tightened down. I have found the mounting screws lose on two different occasions. You would think that after the second time I would have used some Loctite on them. Oh no.... Perhaps when they loosen for the third time I will.

The door speakers are not for mid/high they are basically bass speakers. The only way to improve the sound from the door speakers is to put "normal" speakers in there. WHen I changed my HU/Amp the doors still sucked but after changing them I can front/rear left/right like a normal car. I found speakers that just screwed and plugged in.
