Aaarrrggghhh
Decided to drive my Box to work for the first time since I got it back from the body shop. Started fine, ran fine for 17 miles. Low on gas, I decided to pull into a gas station. Just as I started to turn, my CEL started flashing. Oh crap I said. Pulled in, turned it off and scanned it.
A number of codes later: P0300-P0306 **** P0336 & P0341 P1313-P1318 Where do I start??? Will changing the CPS resolve these problems? Suggestions on the Catalytic converter issues, I'm in a no smog state. Can I bypass them? PLEASE HELP!!! Fred in N. Florida |
How low on gas? Have you started it back up since filling it?

CPS: My first thought was a bad connection or rodent chewed wire, but if it ran well for the first part of the drive, I'm thinking it stopped working well once it reached a certain temperature. I had a similar problem on a Cayenne and before that a MB ML-430. Check the connection and wires, then replace IMO. After cooling down does it run okay at first? Does the problem come back after it's warm? |

Will I cause harm by trying to start it? |
If it's the CPS, then no, no damage will be done trying to start. It may start when cold but fail when hot. This is a common-ish symptom. Pretty easy to replace it from the pass side wheel well.
There are replacements that fit and are not having the Porsche tax added. Do a search! |
Thanks to all that replied. I feel better. Only need to have one Porsche project going on at a time. My 66 912 is going to occupy my time and wallet for a while...
