Hardtop hoist?
Anyone made their own hardtop hoist? If so share how you did it. Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult.

I used a kayak hoist which I got from Amazon.

Great idea! I'll check into that. Thanks

How much does the top weigh?
|
You will need to support the back of the top. there is very little weight at the front.

My hardtop lift ( factory ? ) has a padded bar with hooks on the end . The bar goes through the window openings from side to side and a lift strap hooks to each end of the bar . Then there are two straps that hook to the back of the top under the window. More weight in the back section so it needs to be supported . Basically a boat winch and you just crank the handle and the top raises or lowers . Works great I can load/unload the top by myself .

Hoisted it off, drove out from under it, came back, put it back. Creepy as hell Going to get a better rope before I do it again. The rope that came with it is already fraying. Need to get some padding too.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1506285789.jpg
