Ignition Cylinder
I was in the process of replacing the ignition lock and after removing everything which was very easy I came to this stupid problem!!! In the Bentley Repair Manual it says to remove the ignition cylinder from the lock using a paperclip of some sort and push through a small hole the key has on the lower left (my case) upper right(Bentley Book). Its been about 2 hours and I still can't remove that part. Does anyone have any idea on how to remove this? am I doing something wrong??? I put the key in the 1 (On position as book states) position. Help please someone Bush, CLINTON ANYONE!!! But seriously if someone know please help lol!!!

Hopefully, you have fixed your problem by now (being that it's almost a month later), but I just recently fixed my lock too. The paperclip thing had me troubled as well, but I found out that the paperclip needs to slide in very deep. I would say about 1-1.5 inches. Plus, I was expecting a click of some sort, but there is none. The lock will literally fall off once you reached the unlocking mechanism. The bentely manual states:
1. Turn key in 1 position 2. Insert straightened paperclip Just insert that paper clip far down until the lock and key falls off. Hope this helps. |
