2 DIN radio - any issues seeing the screen with the top down?

(strongly) considering installing a 2 DIN unit in my 2001 S. One concern I have is how visible the screen will be in bright sun. The factory head unit (CDR220) is just about impossible to read. Any comments are appreciated.

The Pioneer unit I installed has the ability to "power tilt" up or down slightly to make it easier to see on sunny days.

So far I haven't had to use it. The screen has good contrast.

Even without 2 din, single din and light colored Savannah Beige interior is all glare. I have it with Kenwood KMM515 single. I think it comes with territory of having convertible along with light colored interiors.

I have a savannah interior and a 2din chinese made android system (Joying) and it's ok most of the time I find.

Unless you like to constantly drive with the roof down and the sun in your back then there is not much you can do isn't it. You shouldn't really be staring at your 2DIN while driving though so does that comes as a purchasing factor? me don't think so... I'd say get that kit installed mate, you'll love the new look

If for some reason you 'need' the 2DIN as a 3rd view monitor (reverse cams, etc), I suggest this :D

Glare w double DIN

The pioneer unit I installed has a tilt screen feature which minimizes glare. The only issue I have noticed is the screen dims when head lights are on. Images from the backup camera are not as bright when using headlights during the day. I always drive w headlights on for increased visibility.

Mine (Sony XAV-AX100, which has a matte screen) is kinda hard to see if you have sunglasses on, but workable. Without, its totally fine.
