How to maintain leather like new?

I have had my 2005 Boxster for a week now, and I can see on the driver side Im rubbibg the side of the seat when getting in the car or out and making marks on the leather.

What are the tricks to maintain leather like new?

I use Meguiar's Leather Cleaner/Conditioner. Everyone comments how my leather is darn near perfect and my seats are 7 years old. It also gives a good temporary smell.
Its easy, you spray onto a towel and rub in.

I have been using the leather conditioner from www.colorplus.com with great success.

Other advice would be:

1) Don't clip stuff onto your belt- phone, Blackberry or etc.

2) If you wear a belt. make sure it is not rough (watch out for belts that your female passengers may wear!)

3) Watch out for metal rivets and buttons on certain pants and jackets

4) If you are wearing a belt try to have your shirt out over the belt to keep from rubbing on the leather

I just did this yesterday.

clean:
1Z leather with a terry rag. Best product I've used on leather. Really gets down to the nitty gritty. I've used it on very clean looking seats and the rag comes away dark and dirty. Afterwards they look new not greasy and old.

condition: (very important to keep away the cracks).
Leatherique rejuvenator and prestine clean. Stuff is a lil bit on the pricey side but
it's really good. Let it soak in for an hour before buffing out. The longer the better.

For more frequent conditioning the Porsche leather stuff is actually quiet good.

I've tried over the counter stuff like Lexol, workse well but leaves residue that has certain color about it.

Don't rest your mammoth thighs on the seat bolsters when entering or exiting the vehicle...

Also, vacuum the leather, paying special attention to the seams and creases, weekly with a brush attachment. Vacuum the leather when you are vacuuming the carpets.

I have had a Corbin seat on my Buell for about two years, bought it new.

It still looks new.

I have used Lexol on that seat since new, about one a month.

That might work for the Box!

I highly recommend Leatherique. It is a little bit pricey but a little goes a long way. I use it on my Boxster and my motorcycle and both look like new.

Also a great product!

I use Lexol, mainly because I couldn't find Leatherique. It works great!

I use Bick 4. This stuff is used mainly in the "tack" business (cowboys put this
stuff on their saddles). It's simply the best leather stuff I could find. I had
to goto a tack store to get it however.
