New top not going into lock position?

I just had a used top put on my 2000 986.
When I picked it up it fit perfectly.
I put the top down for a few hours. But had to get it ready for two weeks of down time.
When I tried to put the top back on. It will not go into the locking groove.
No matter how much I pull and push. It won't go into the lock.
It used to do it all by itself.

Suggestions.

And yes. I am bringing it back to the installer in two weeks.
