Winter driving
How does the boxster drive in the snow? The car most similar that I previously owned was a VW fastback. If I recall it was not too bad in the snow since it kept moving. The engine sat right over the rear axle.
The dealer Silver Star in Long Island, suggested getting the 17" Continental tires for the winter and use the 18" carrera alloys for the summer which I did. |
Not bad at all. With the great steering sensitivity it is easy to tell exactly where your limits are. In fact the snow turns my commute into a car-control clinic, which is really fun! You just don't get to play with throttle-induced oversteer in the summer.
My only regret is that the Boxster doesn't have a LSD to get a little more traction in some situations. |
