Honestly. If a 79 year old can do it comfortably maybe it's not as unsafe as they make out.

As much of a danger as a Tahoe going 55.

No way.

Granted, the Boxster may handle better than a Tahoe, but the Tahoe decelerates from 60-0 mph in 143 ft. A Boxster GTS decelerates from 70-0 mph in 142 ft. At almost 150 mph, the Boxster would slam into any inanimate object almost 300 ft. away.

I read an article once about a motorcyclist in Europe who was doing 150 mph on a roadway. He encountered a van entering the roadway from a side street. The motorcycle slammed violently into the side of the van, embedding itself in the vehicle. Investigators determined that the motorcyclist didn't have enough time to even begin to apply the brakes. THAT'S what 150 mph is like.

Just sayin'...........

Not altogether sure how they would have reached that conclusion. 150 mph is 220 ft/sec. That would give him well over.a second to react. I don't know about him, but I know in panic situations I've hit my brakes faster than that.

All irrelevant, of course...he certainly still never would have stopped in time. That's just crazy fast under anything other than perfect conditions...the likes of which virtually never occur on public roads
