Problem with Rear Spoiler Switch...
I installed the rear spoiler switch with no problem, followed the instructions and thought everything was fine. I hoped in the car today when it was dark and I noticed something. The key wasnt even in the ignition and the rear spoiler and door lock switch were illuminited!?!? Is this normal? I used the brown wire from the door lock switch for the spoiler switch harness, could that have had something to do with it?

definitely had something to do with it. not sure which color wire is what, but you need to use a wire that's only hot when the ignition is on.
you've tapped into the door lock circuit for power; the door locks work wether the key is in or not. |
Hi,
The Brown wire in Boxsters is almost always a Ground. You should ground this wire to one of several ground points under the Dash. This will cure your ills. Hope this helps... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
