Stupid question of the hour ...
If I remove the coolant top and hear a hiss (on a cold automobile) does that mean it has to be pressurized/vacuum again? That's all I did. I swear.
Thanks! |
It should naturally do that.
|
is a little condensation normal? It looks like they 'plan' for it by having a rubber seal close around it .... ?
|
I'd be concerned that you have a snake in your Boxster.

Thanks for the clarification, All:) |
First couple weeks of Boxster ownership had condensation in trunk...no issues anymore. Owned about two years now.
|
Make sure you have the newest PN cap. It stops the condensation.

Yep. Local P dealer should have it too. Cheap part. |
If you have condensation, you likely have a bad/crossthreaded cap or vent valve seal issues.
both easy cheap fixes |
On other cars I've had, pressure escaping out the cooling system when opened *stone cold* is a sign of a head gasket leak.
Not sure why a water cooled Porsche engine would be any different, but if so, perhaps someone can explain the physics involved. |
