Has anyone tried this stuff on a failing MAF?

I would recommend trying to clean it once possibly twice. How many miles are on your car? If it is more then 50k with the original sensor I would just buy a new one, they wear out esaily.

It should work fine, but just regular old electronics cleaner is all you really need.

Btw, if you replace the sensor on the '00 model, pull your old one first so you can check the part number. If you have the ....124 in there now and you get the ....125, then the dealer has to update your computer (at a price, of course. ;) ) I just replaced mine with another ....124 sensor and I'll deal with replacing it again in another 80K-100K miles.

I have used the CRC Maf cleaner and the CRC QD electronics cleaner. Both work good, but sometimes the maf is too far gone and needs replacment. Definetly worth the couple of bucks to try it first though. I say I usually end up with maybe 60-40 split on ones that it saves, vrs. the ones that are too far gone.

tape head cleaner is good, too

My car has been running really well, but I did have very slight but noticeable variation in idle speed. This seems to have helped.

Checker auto parts carries a large number of CRC products including the MAF cleaner.
