Whatever plug you switch to, remember that you need a new crush washer every time you remove it and torque it to spec. The OEM plug is steel. The magnetic are aluminum. The torque specs are significantly different.

...Is it worth it to switch? Im afraid that if torqued too hard by mistake by mechanic...

What are the torque spec for L&N magnetic plug?

Barely over finger tight... it's 19 ft/lb.

And that hooey about a new crush washer every time?
If I remember to get one.
Forgot last fall and flipped and reused the old one.
Not a single drop leaking.

Porsche has never used steel drain plugs in the water cooled cars, they are aluminum and an alloy softer than the sump cover to limit wear and the chance of stripping out the sump cover.
