Introduction and a question

Hey everyone, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Brian and I'm currently a pharmacy student. I've always been a huge Porsche fan, and after graduating I plan on getting one, or possibly 4. Anyways, I like the 986 as a starting point for my Porsche journey and I have a vision for mine, albeit some people won't like it. I was wondering if anybody has seen this wing/decklid before, and if they know where to purchase it? I came across this while searching for fender flares, and I like the way this car looks as a whole, but that wing/decklid just sets it apart in my opinion.

I look forward to lurking the boards more often, even if I don't get a chance to post often.

That tail is a 911 turbo tail. I had one on my 77 that I removed. Have you looked at other tails. Looks like the car is going to flip backwards.

That is a Porsche 930 Turbo tail aka tea tray, that someone has modified by drilling along the leading edge to mount to the trunk. These are commonly available used and are a very popular item. Just know that they caused porpoising issues on the cars that were not designed for them as they needed front spoilers to compensate. Can't even imagine what it might do to a Boxster. Anyway search for Porsche 930 Turbo wing/spoiler.

Fuchs wheels. Seems a 911 is more in your future.

Ugh. Extreme Fugliness. To each his own, I guess, but suggest you pay attention to 911Monty's comment.

Pretty cool! Not a huge fan of the updated front end as it looks far too new for the rest of the car.

Aside from that though, the color, gender flares, stripes, and rear spoiler are pretty awesome! Far more tasteful then all the boxster's that are simply bagged with smoked lights.

It's just my opinion, but I couldn't drive something resembling that. It just doesn't fit the original design of the car in either form or function.

If you like that one, you are going to really love this:

JUST NO. If you truly love Porsche's please don't buy that car or put that 911 turbo tail wing element on a Boxster. It's awful. Do however get a 986 and use it to enjoy life. If you like wings, and I do, consider something like the Cayman Interseries Wing Element. It's totally effective, but outrageous for the street

What would make that turbo tail kickass on a 986 boxster is a turbo engine to go with it, with a nice intercooler mounted under the tail vents, which was its originally designed function. Might have to give up some rear trunk space to make that work, though.

wow, I just got a chance to get back on here and the responses were about what I expected. I did not say that I wanted to do exactly that to my car when I get it, but I just liked that turbo wing. The car itself is different, and I like a lot of different things. I guess I shouldn't mention that I hope to get a RWB 911 one day, should I? And this may be a shocker, but that red car is hideous.

There was a '91 Targa with an RWB kit on eBay not that long ago. I wouldn't cut up an aircooled 911 for it, but to each his own.
