non starter
 

'02' 2.7 boxster, the car has been idle for sometime and the window seal wasn't closed properly so the car foot wells are now damp (if this is a problem). the battery that is 1 year old was flat due to lack of use so. last night I jump started it and although the car woke up there wasn't enough charge to turn over the engine only a clicking noise. so I charged the battery overnight and still nothing this morning only the clicking noise. Any help or ideas please.

Dead battery. There is at least one shorted cell in it, so no way will it be able to turn the engine over.

Replace the battery. Easy fix.

thanks. the battery indicator says that that its fully charged, does this still mean that there could be a shorted cell?

What battery indicator?

The Clicking is the starter solenoid trying to engage. The starter will not spin without the solenoid engaged. Your battery is no strong enough to get the solenoid to engage.

At this point you have either a bad battery connection or a bad battery. Remove the battery and get it load tested.

Your immobilizer is probably shot, too. It's under the drivers seat with the water. :eek:

The OP is in a very wet area. If the car was stored outside ....There are some threads on opening the Immobilizer and drying it with acetone in desperation.
If it is totally dry in the floor under the seats , Search for "Initialization" and try that.
If that does not work ,it is back to basics - fuel pressure test,CEL codes.

thanks I think its the immobiliser issue
the battery keeps draining I think because of the immobilise as the alarm keeps going off I will dry it out and start from there !!
