Underbody plastic panel
On my 2000 S, on the right front side I noticed a plastic piece hanging. It appears to be vent to direct air to the radiator. I just duct taped it for now. Anyone know the part name so I can search for one?

Have a look at the following post, It will prolly answer your question.

There are 2 'flaps' on each side on the S model. One just in front of each front tire and another perpendicular to the first one. What they do is direct hot air from behind the radiator down and to the outside of the car and away from the brake ducts which are part of the wheel well liners when you are in motion or when the fans kick in. Both of these are torn off or worn down on many Boxsters. I just recently replaced all of mine.
Here are the part numbers. 99650460300 Air Duct L 99650460400 Air Duct R 99650450300 Rubber lip L 99650450400 Rubber lip R All are available on eBay and amazon, but quite honestly, I found them cheaper at the dealership at about $24.00 CDN each. |
Thanks guys.

Are these parts easy to replace or is it one of those jobs that a bunch of unrelated parts need to come off? Thanks again.

I made mine out of aluminum flashing and painted them black. I've heard them scrape a few times but the aluminum is easily bent back into shape.

Are they easy to pop on the new ones. I don't want to start if it is going to turn into an all day affair. If that's the case, I will duct tape. Thanks.

I used Home Depot garden edging and heat to make it match the stock curve. Total cost of about $8, 30 minutes total.
For the flaps, not the duct. |
