Durametric

Hi,
I just bought an Autel MD802 maxdiag elite @ about $200 amazon and it is able to read all codes, and clear the codes. Works on many models. |
Depends on what you are looking for. If all you want to do is read and clear the generic OBD II code list buy the cheapest code reader you can find. If you want that as well as reading Porsche specific codes, and be able to reset the pesky airbag light, as well as read and record all of the engine parameters, like fuel trim etc. get a Durametric. I have both a fancy generic code reader that does read, record and graph generic OBD II values, and then I have the Durametric that is Porsche specific. I'm not sure where the generic code reader is...

The Maxidiag Elite also reads and clears Porsche-specific codes as well as a bunch of other manufacturers. The Durametric is fine if you only work on Porsches. I also own a Mercedes CLK 350 and the Maxidiag Elite covers both.
My Indie can do all of the more exotic Porsche stuff. |
+1 for the Autel MD802 / Maxidiag Elite.
Does not require a computer to use it. Reads and resets most modules on many vehicles. It is not as capable as the Durametric for higher level diagnostics, but does everything I have needed for a variety of cars. |

Another vote for the Autel MD802. It was the only tool I could buy to reset an airbag light on my 99 986. My Durametric could not read the modules. Durametric has some trouble with certain 99s and airbag modules It also shuts off my service reminders on my VWs. |
If I want to do things like turn on the DRL option etc. I'm going to need the Durametric Pro, correct?

I bought this $5 Bluetooth model off the net and I use the TORQUE app with it and its great... dirt cheap and works great. I was able to fix my O2 senor using it and saved myself hundreds!! Love it...
