My One year in on my 2000 Yellow S
Hi Everyone
I thought Id do a one year in on my speed Yellow Boxster S with 97,000 miles So far (touch wood) its been very reliable. When I bought I put away £1000 for servicing and to repair any faults that crop up. Here is a break down of cost so far. Including road tax and insurance that were not really included in my £1000 running cost budget as you'd need road tax and insurance on any car. UK Road Tax per year £220 Car insurance £300 UK MOT test and mini service £180, Passed the MOT with no advisories. (not a specialist but the garage I use to look after my newish Passat so i trust him) Had the rear bumper removed and repainted due to a little bit of lacquer peel £250 Total £950. If I minus the tax and insurance £430, I could also minus the bumper paint as it wasnt really beneficial. Car wise its been a great year my only criticism is in icy weather the door window glass freezes and wont let you open the doors lol. Also my rear clam shell has started to sit slightly proud when the roof is down. Iv spoken to a porsche specialist who recons it could be because the roof has not been down all winter and is just a bit tight. They think it should sort itself with use if not they will re adjust it. to be honest I rarely have the roof down. I thinks as you can see above if you buy a good one of these thats been looked after it wont break the bank running cost wise, Id still recommend have at least £1000 put away for servicing and repairs per year. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1491913503.jpg |

Great looking car and thanks for letting everyone know about your ownership experience!
One thing that wasn't clear is how many miles did you drive over the past year? And keep that £1000 in a safe place - a set of new tires are likely just around the corner... :) |
