Bad News, What to do Now!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Its been awhile since my last post. Well i got some bad news, I took my 01 Boxster out of storage last week just to find out the my top moans when going down and when coming back up it doesn't stop where it normally does and now the light never goes off. I'm now stuck do i replace and get it fix or do i swap out for the new hard tops that make it look like a cayman! please help with this decision.

You could just figure out what is binding (check all those plastic bushings in the rods) and fix it. If you open your owner's manual there is a procedure for how to lower and raise the top manually, it involves popping off a few clips. I actually converted my top to manual operation because it takes 10 seconds to lower or raise so I didn't feel like spending the $ on a new motor. There is a few write ups on here on how to do it.

Garage
Economical route would be to trouble shoot and resolve the issue; more expensive route is to replace it with a Cayman look-alike.

Pros Cons either way
