I have a rear OEM storage pouch and was looking at it the other day like wtf....Question answered

Had the car for two weeks so there a lot of little things to discover. Like the broken hinges on about everything like the springs on the door pockets. Been fixing some of the plastic with Q-bond seems to hold pretty well for now.

There is a repair kit for the hinge on the center console top.

Put one of these in very quick fix! Was there supposed to be a spring on the hinge?
|
No, there's no spring on that "oddments tray" retrofit hinge (or the original one for that matter).
I spent the first two years fixing broken plastic bits on my boxster. Ugh. Try adding some oil sometime to see if the flexible, accordion-style plastic oil filler tube has a crack in it. If you smell burning oil after adding oil, that's because it's cracked and leaking on your passenger side exhaust manifold :( |
Oh great! thanks for the heads up!
I surf ebay for pieces a lot seems to be lots of stuff available for these cars. |

Don't forget to try our own forum member Woody (ItsNotANova) for used parts. He's always getting in cars and parting them out. If Woody doesn't have a used part you are looking for try seller QualityPorscheParts on ebay. I've had good luck with them. Looks like your rear shelf carpeting might be faded. If it is (and you don't have a gray interior) Duplicolor makes a black fabric/vinyl spray that you can use to make it look like new again. Takes less than a can to do the whole shelf (ask me how I know). :) After it dries the carpet will be stiff. You can brush it with a stiff bristle brush to soften it back up. |
