Boxster inside space

Sat in a 2000 boxster today and there is not enough headspace. Did the inside get any bigger in the later years? I am 6'4". I sat in a 2007 cayman and there seemed to be a lot more space. Anybody got any experience with this? Thanks

Have to ask...
Did you have the seat lowered all the way? My son is 6'3" and has lots of room.

Seat all the way back.

The seat was all the way back and down.

Yes, post 2004 versions of the Boxster got bigger. I'm 6' but long torso'ed and the roll bar to my head relationship was much different.

2003 with glove box

The 2003 model came with the glove box and glass rear window. Is that when the inside changed?

The 986 has the same room regardless of year.

The 987 has a little more interior room despite being the same platform as the 986 (attributed to lower thickness on some panels/materials).

I'm 6'3" & find it a little tight too. I haven't done it yet but may install the "extend my seat" kit. Its supposed to give you another 2-3"

6'4" and fit fine. I did install the GT3 center console delete kit which helped a lot on the leg room. Make sure the seat is all the way down.

Definitely make sure the seat is set correctly. When I was first looking at Boxsters I test drove one where the steering wheel was touching my legs and I didn't have a whole lot of headroom. I couldn't adjust it as the car had issues but I fit perfectly into the one I bought. Goes to show the adjustment can help a lot. Another thing, check how far back the seat is and how its reclined.

I'm a tiny 6-2 and head room is no issue The power seats besides height can pivot the seat
My only issue is leg distance to the pedals and bottom of the steering wheel

Tall folks can fit ok in a 986 if adjusted correctly, but the truth is that if you would like to be a bit more comfortable, go for a 987 (2005+) model, as they are roomier inside. I'm only 6', but since my torso is taller relative to my legs, and I'm a bit on the fatarse side, the inside is a little bit of a squeeze.

I'm also 6'4.

The trick is not to have the seat all the way back. That way you can recline the backrest further and thereby get more room for the head.

I sit comfortably in this position.

Height is not the only factor. Torso to leg ratios are different between people. I have two kids, one with long torso, one with short torso. Their heights are within an inch, Their inseams are wildly different.

Fact - Sportscars are small. The beauty of the Boxster - put the roof down and voila! Problem solved!
