Skills: backing into a parking spot without stalling the car
I've only driven manual transmissions for most of my adult life. But I have never mastered the art of backing into a parking space WITHOUT my foot on the clutch. Please help me I'm only little.

Nothing wrong with using the clutch. For some people backing speed at idle is uncomfortably fast.

I'm confused.
Why wouldn't you get yourself lined up, let out the clutch a little to get it rolling, and then push in the clutch again and roll into the spot? If its uphill, you can just slip the clutch momentarily to get in the spot. I can't imagine backing into the spot at enough speed that I'd be off the clutch entirely. |

No problem with not letting the clutch bite all the way when you're parking ;)
Especially with the Boxster's tall gearing! |
Parallel Parking
This was on our actual driving test back in 1972.....never a problem for me. Try parallel parking on a steep downhill in a manual
a much higher pucker factor |
