Can a rear cayman sway bar be fitted to a base 986

Looking to tweak ARB set up a bit and seems like the stock cayman rear bar would be a good choice.

Anybody know?

thanks.

If it is a 987 Cayman then my guess would be yes, since the Tarett rear sway bar they sell is the same model of 986 & 987:

Porsche 986 & 987 Hollow Adjustable Sway Bar , Boxster & Cayman

Here are some details on the relative stiffness of the various bars, including the data for the Eibach rear sway bar for 986 (spoiler alert - the Eibach bars are stiff :) )

I have a 2005 987 boxster sway bar on my 2000. It's much thicker than the factory bar.

It will fit with with its bushings and caps.

A stiffer rear sway bar will tend towards increased oversteer. Is this the goal that you hope to accomplish?

Precisely. I'm not looking for a dramatic change like an h&r or tarrett. That did I'm not sure a standard cayman bar will be worth the effort. May just wait to see if I can get a used m030 bar.

Thanks guys

For the price, it's hard to beat a cayman swaybar ;)

But do you really want more oversteer? The Boxster is already a drift machine ^^

Depending on your tire choice the Cay bar might work well and allow the car to rotate more easily in a corner. It is about the same as a M030 rear bar which makes for a well balanced car running 225/255 tires. If you are running 255 square I predict the car will be too tail-happy.

My brother ran with the M030 rear sway on his BSX car to good effect often beating his older brother running a full Tarrett sway setup. I believe some of his overall BSX track records are still standing.
