Removing seats

Hey,

I need to temporary remove seats from my 986 and I know (after searching this forum) that I don't want to turn the ignition key or I'll risk the airbag failure... My question is: is it still OK to use the key to open/close the doors? Because I need some way to close the doors while working on seats at home.

The best way to approach it (and that is what I do all the time), is to disconnect the battery. Jus make sure you put a rag on the hood latch, so you dont accidentally lock it.
