I know what you mean. I had that outline on mine too. After rubbing with Afta solvant I used polishing compound. The stuff for removing oxidation and contaminants. I got it all out.

I really like that 986 badge look and on your silver car I'm sure it looks great. I'm going to stay with no badges for a while because it's easier to polish the trunk without one.
