Need help with a loose headlight

My car, a 2002 Boxster S has a loose headlight on the left side. Ive removed the headlight and placed it back in multiple times. Pretty much any time i drive i need to apply pressure on the light for my light to work. has this problem happened to anyone else? please help.

Are you using the headlight tool that comes with the car? You need to push the headlight in, and then you rotate the tool until it clicks the headlight into place. It'll take a good amount of force; the first time I had to do it, I thought I broke the headlight seat.

yes i am. seems like no matter the force it still seems to be loose.

Have you inspected the bottom and sides of the assembly, or the tray the unit slides into for any broken plastic bits?

Check that the connector on the mounting plate hasn't shifted or come loose.

Had a similar problem. Replaced the clip that holds the socket in place. Problem solved

This locking mechanism is beautiful in design, but seems problematic. I've had difficulty getting the headlight assemblies to fully lock down too.

Use a 5,5 mm nut with a 1/4" wrench to fasten the headlight instead of that f… OEM tool. The OEM tool is made of aluminium and can fail. Had the same problem and when breaking hard my left headlight completely popped out and flew against my front fender.
