Window regulator likely cause?

Been searching through the forum and haven't found my problem specifically. After I open my drivers door the window does not stay down the 1/2 inch - it pops back up to the closed position. But the door handles work fine - I have to open the handle to lower the window then close the door. The window switch works fine. The motor works fine with no noises. I've disconnected the battery then ran through the window reset system (lower all the way then back up). Has anybody had this issue? I'm assuming it's the regulator but just double checking.

My guess is the microswitch in the door latch mechanism.

Here's a video I just found, I only watched the first minute, but I think it's what you need.

In my window experience. If the regulator cable was stretched or off the wheels, you would hear the motor turning, but the window would not move. I'm betting on one of the micro switches also.

possible root cause and a fix

just had the exact same problem on my 01 boxster. Internet research indicated it was a bad microswitch on the door latch assembly as noted below. My local indie Porsche specialty shop replaced the entire latch assembly - their charge was $270 for the part and 2 hours labor. If you can isolate the specific bad switch and DIY, a switch is only $25 or so.
