Whats your usual dashboard temperature reading?

Im using degrees celsius here.

I start my with the metre at the blue end. After a short 5 mins drive it would hit around 60. 15 mins later we will surely see 80. About 20mins it would hit 90 and stay there.. even if i were to continue driving.

My mechanic says he still has yet to install a thermostat.

Are my readings normal? I come from singapore with our daily temperature hovering between 27-33 everyday.

I apologize for not converting them to Farenheit.

Can't relate to Celsius as I work in Fahrenheit
I can offer this, the Dash gauge, as far as true water temp, is going to be inaccurate. Getting a direct reading from the OBDII will be more informative.
What are your Fans doing?
Certainly in stop and go, low speed driving the temp will continue to climb until the fans come on and modulate the water temp at that high end. Steady driving (For me over 40 mph) will start to bring the temp down some. Of course Hwy driving should bring it down to it's best operating temp.
So you need to see if the driving and the Fans make the temps behaving correctly
I recently added new WP, low temp thermostat, replace Expansion tank, flushed and replaced coolant with Porsche Pink
I run 10 - 20 degrees cooler on the Hwy now (Depending on outside temp)
For long stop and go, I bounce off the fans modulating the temps
