i broke something that i think is not fixable

What you have is a threaded insert.Its pulled into position much like a rivet. But they will spin if you honk them.
I`d go to a body shop and have a chat.It`s not that bad.
And
Google nut inserts, nut plates in specialty hardware.

thanks! i'm just happy its fixable i was getting concerned.
i will most likely try to tackle this on my own and will post the results
