Clamshell not sitting flush when top is down
Just started. When l lower the top it's sits proud of the body about half an inch.
Is there a DIY or can anyone guide me in adjusting it?

There are ajustable stops at the front leading edges of the clamshell. This will take care the front edges obviously. If your rear edge is up I would look at what might be interfering with it going down there are stops there but I have never played with them.
A half an inch is quite a lot I would say something is sticking or gone asymmetric on you. Look at mechanism function first rather than down position stops adjustment

It is possible there is an acutal issue. It would be strange for this to happen out of the blue. I would understand if you recently had the top replaced or a top component (i.e. motor, cable, etc) replaced.

This problem just happened out of the blue,I have not had any work done to the top lately. The clamshell closes evenly, just doesn't close fully when the top is down. The back end of the clamshell is the area ingestion. No problem with the clamshell when the top is up. Have not had a chance to investigate it further' but I'm curious as to thoughts on why this could be happening

My question is why would you see this happening and not investigate. What might have been an easy fix could potentially create additional i.e.. expensive, damage.

I put the roof back up - as I would have to have done in any case, cycled it to confirm there was a problem - and then I have left it up since then. Before I tried to get in there and diagnose it I thought I would see if anyone else had been down this road before.

Does the car think the top is down (e.g., is the light on the dash off)? Or is it being blocked from fully down by an obstruction or damaged linkage?
If the light is on, you have an obstruction.

Perhaps.... when I replaced my '01 top with the plastic window with an '03 OEM top with the glass window I found that I had to close the top clasp (the one that you use to secure the top to the windshield frame) as the top was closing. If I don't do this the clamshell will sit a tad high just as yours does. Perhaps.

The dash light indicates that it thinks the top is down
Won't be able to play with it until the weekend, so any thoughts anyone might have are welcome

Solved it!
Looked under the roof and found the problem: the piece that extends from the top and clips on to the firewall had come lose
