key FOB question

About a year ago I picked up a used electronic key FOB off this forum for cheap. I'm talking 25.00 cheap so it was worth the risk. I have someone lined up to pair it to my car or at least attempt to do so. I purchased three new switches also very cheap and soldered them onto the board last week . Put a new battery in and all three switches are working or when I push each the LED light comes on. But I noticed that after I leave the FOB alone for a minute or two the LED light comes on by itself
Is it possible the FOB is doing that because it is searching for the electronic link to a immobilizer ? Or is this a sign something is wrong with the FOB.

Without the barcode /serial number of the fob, you can't program a car to accept it

Hopefully at least the case is good, otherwise you wasted $25

No, it has to match the fob you are using.
