Visor delete

A couple of months ago I purchased a 2001 S. [I know, pictures or it didn't happen]. First off I must compliment you folks for a great site. I have been lurking for several months and the knowledge and helpful attitudes that %99 of you have is second to none!
I have gone into this adventure with my eyes wide open thanks to you fine folks. So... the question is, I have had no luck finding a sun visor delete kit or anything resembling it. I did find a photo via Google, but nothing more. Any thoughts? Anybody want to sell me their broken visors for part scavenging? Thanks!

welcome John!

i dont know about the visor delete, i wouldnt dare with my lady applying makeup in the car but if you need spare parts simply text our resident Boxster dismantler Woody at 5129259171 and ask if he has some. cant beat his prices or fairness.

alternatively you can post in our classified section that you want to buy some.

good luck!

Cristian

Welcome John. There is no delete kit.... but. I deleted mine by taking the ones that came with the car off and boxing them up. I then bought the worst pair that Woody (http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-parts-sale-wanted/52469-parting-out-whole-lot-boxsters.html) had and gutted them. I ground the post off of one side and put some black paint where the post was. I then mounted the two sides and was good to go.

In my humble opinion, it looks much better without them. Plus, I enjoy seeing my wife reach for one and finding it gone.

There actually is a unicorn factory part for visor delete that replaces the visor mount base with a smooth base (no post, no grind marks). Haven't seen one listed anywhere lately. Seems I recall was pricey for what it was. BOL.
