Getting at the vacuum valves und intake manifold

97' 2.5 secondary air pump comes on but throws p0410 and 411 codes. (Might have the numbers wrong from memory but relates to secondary air)

Connected vacuum to the nipple on changeover valve, will not hold vacuum. Does lack of vacuum indicate failure?

Wanting to change it out and research says intake manifold has to come off, different one says just have to remove the throttle body to gain access.

Would very much like to avoid pulling intake.

Tips would be appreciated.

You can get to it from the front access cover if you remove the alternator. Or you can remove the snorkel, loosen the hose clamps on the rear intake manifold runner and pivot the throttle body up out of the way

Removing the throttle body would be the way to go. I'm actually glad I removed my intake because I found a number of cracked hoses underneath
