Tree Sap

Drove my Box to the Golf course a few days ago and parked under some big pine trees. I went to wash my car today and found a few spots of tree sap. Any suggestion on getting it off. I have just tried to scrub it off but there is still quite a bit left.

Hi,

Get some PrepSol, available at any Auto Parts or Auto Paint Supply. It's purpose is to de-grease prior to painting and it will remove Bugs, Sap, Tar all without hurting the paint or having to go all Ahhhnold on it. Hope this helps...

You can also try Dawn (or any degreasing dish soap). But it will strip off the wax as well so you'll have to reapply.

Claybar usually works for me.

I get out a small spritz bottle of 20% Optimum Car Wash, 80% distilled water, clean the area as much as i can (and also to cool the sheet metal)

Then gently run a polyclay over the afflicted area to remove as much as possible, failing which I will apply a dab of Meguiar's Scratch X or Menzerna FP II and a good dose of elbow grease

This is then followed-up with a re-application of Finishing Touch Glaze (Klasse AIO also works), 2 layers of Full Molecular Jacket (FMJ), then 2 layers of either Menzerna's High Gloss Acrylic Shield (HGAS) or Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (HGSG)

ghoonk,
where do you buy high end detailing supplies in Dubai?
I know there are TONS of nice cars driving around there but it
soo hot and dry. Are there car wash wash places? The automatic kind?
How about I move there and open up my own detailing shop with
my Porter Cable polisher? You think I would get a few Sports cars and Mercs? :p

p.s.
Have you tried FK 425? Someone who will remain nameless just stole a bottle from my car.
