new owner 99 Boxster

Hello, a new member and a new owner of a 99 Boxster, bought as a restoration project. No major issues with the car, just a bucket load of minor issues such as a non working top ,cruise control, sticky gas pedal , electric seat switch and on and on. I will be working on the car this point forward and hopefully can get some advice from some experienced owners. The nearest dealer is 150 miles. I am waiting on various parts to arrive. Thank you.

Good luck with your project. Nice to hear of an old 986 being brought back to life. Lots of great resources here - use the search function and you will be amazed at the treasure trove of information.

Post a pic of your car - and updates as you move forward!

You're in for some fun. I've worked through a number of minor issues and continue to be impressed with this car. This forum knows everything.

Welcome and congrat's!

Lots of help here on the 986Forum - if its 986 related someone has already been there and done that. :)

We only have one informal rule - pic's or it never happened. Post up some pics when you can and post updates as you fix things (helps the next person immeasurably), we'd all love to see your car!

Welcome! :)
The best advice I can give for your upcoming repairs is to take down Woody's info. He parts out wrecked Boxsters in the classified section (username "itsnotanova").

Where in NE are you? I'm just across the river in Maryville, MO. If you're not too far away, maybe we could meet up sometime and I could offer some assistance.

Thanks for the welcome. I live in western Nebraska so not close to Mo. I think I have the only Porsche in the County. My latest problem: After disconnecting the battery(seat removal) the accelerator pedal will now not work smoothly. I tried the reprograming which said to turn on ignition switch for 60 secs and off for 10+ secs, which did not work. Any advice.
