Cabin and Courtesy Light LED replacement
I think this obvious answer but wanted to run past brain trust before blowing fuse.
Just bought my boxster and previous owner had put Blue LEDs. I have popped the LEDs out as seen in picture. What standard light should I be looking for to replace. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/0031468937722.jpg |
Might be nice to introduce yourself and pics before asking a bunch of questions
we are a fairly friendly bunch here, but do like to know new members Also do a search before posting a question as often your question will be answered already If you look in the owner's manual, you will find a list of all bulbs the car uses. Its always a good idea to have a look in the owners manual This also list all the bulbs in the car Philips Bulb Look-up |
Good Point Jay, I have just been cruising most of the site in stealth mode and have enjoyed the amount of information out there and resources available. I live in NC and bought my first 2002 Boxster S of a guy down in SC. Its riding 100K miles and just needs a lot of TLC but mechanically it seems in great shape. He had made a few alterations which Im trying to turn back to stock including the Climate Control, Radio and Lighting. Also he smoked in the car which has been a nightmare to get out
What has already been done: 1. Interior has been pulled out, steam cleaned and de-odorized 2. Seats have been reconditioned but will get to cracks later in year 3. I have repainted rims 4. Three stage cut and polish There is still a laundry list to go :) But at least I got the smell out of car. The Porsche Boxster is a scary proposition when you think of the buy in price versus upkeep and maintenance. Plus the IMS failure scares the bejebus out of me but oil and filter look clean at the moment. Have very small oil leak that needs to be addressed. Will post pics when its all back together again |
I did not think a convertible would keep the smoke smell as much as other cars that are closed in and specially cloth seats, leather and synthetic carpet does not seem to keep smoke smell that much, what does is the air conditioning system, if the previous owner smoked in the car a lot with the top closed and the ac blowing that will stay, I think you can clean the ac internals (blower, flapper, vents, clean air filter, evap) with steam

I know exactly what you mean about smoke smell :/
Every time I borrow good mate Jeff’s Ferrari California here, the constant wiff of imported Columbian crack cocaine, Burmese heroin rocks and Xingjiang marijuana smells (combined) is so intense it makes me feel hungry every time. Nothing worse than Jeff’s previous week's duo-prostitutes smell also. Wooof! Good trick on the steam, I’ll certainly recommend that! OP, try to find the Operation/User Manuals. Itsall in there |

Here is a link to download the owner's manual for a 2000 Boxster that I found that may be helpful.
