front trunk hood.

My front trunk won't open as far as it used to.
How is this adjusted?

If you mean it won't lift as high... the small lift cylinders are probably pooched.

The spring on the release mechanism is weakening; getting ready to fail. Replacement of the entire unit is necessary. It's an easy fix, and not that expensive.

You can get a used unit from Woody, or any other recycler, or you could just buy a new one.

Just sayin'...........

TO

p.s. Better get one soon before you can't access the frunk at all.

It's a piston. They are cheap. Don't buy used ones.

Reading back. I guess my original question was a bit unclear.
When you pull the frunk release lever, it was not popping up enough to get a finger beneath it.

I found out today that the rubber stopper can be adjusted.

Dah.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by hosing down the latch mechanism with spray silicone lubricant.

Also, be careful that you don't adjust the stoppers too far out which can elevate the leading edge of the hood above the front bumper when the hood is closed. It's designed to be just below the bumper.
