Hi! - and what is this part
First off, hi, I'm new to the forums. I have a 2001 Boxster S that I bought last year for track use.
I've had some of the (apparently) typical failures so far: * Burned out the power steering pump after a few track sessions. Had an additional power steering fluid cooler installed. So far so good. * RMS started leaking. Had the IMS replaced at the same time. * Broken shifter cable. That one was fun. Towed off track. * 2nd gear is nigh impossible to shift into when the car is cold. Worn synchro. I typically shift 1-3 until the car is wamed up. Currently presents no issues on the track. Anyhoo that leads me to my question. Does anybody know what this part is? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1468703840.jpg The rubber connectors snapped when I slid over a rumble strip this past weekend and I need a new one. |
It's a brake cooling deflector.

You may want to consider upgrading to the GT-3 brake ducts for more brake cooling on the track. Very common upgrade.

Perfect. Thanks guys. I'll definitely look into the GT-3 upgrade.
