987 Battery Cover - Am I a Spaz?

Has anyone had trouble with the plastic battery cover? I just cannot get it to fit correctly. I dont see anything broken or bent, but it just does not align properly and fit snugly....Is it just me or have others experienced this frustration?

I share in your frustration! Those two little plastic screws are pretty difficult to get seated and secured.

I complained to the dealership that it didn't feel like the piece was molded right since it definitely doesn't fit properly. They aligned it the best they could and while it still looks a little bit "popped up", it doesn't look as bad as it used to.

In short, it's normal.

mixed feelings here..... first off i'm glad it is not just my mechanical ineptitude, but second i'm pissed they would do such a piss poor job of designing the piece...shame on Porsche for not putting a little extra effort here....

Yeah--I noticed it immediately when I picked up the car originally. I had my salesman pop the hood on other Boxsters in the lot to show me that they were all like that.

Pretty crappy, eh?

Yep, mine doesn't fit that perfect either. It really is a sucky cover.
