Clamshell, top wonkiness

Hi all,

Something has come undone in my top mechanism. Sometimes when the top is closed, a short length of black plastic tubing is exposed, caught between the clamshell and the top fabric. And it looks like the clamshell is not seating properly when the top is down. See pics. I'm guessing this cable has come loose from somewhere?

That's the tension cable. The ball end broke off and should still be attached to the top ball. You can order a new one pretty cheap. Bottom one pops off / on and top one has a little pin you need to slide in after popping the ball on. Do a search for tension cable. Very easy.

Looks like a broken top tension cable. Place your top in the service position and have a look. The lower end is probably attached to the ball stud. They can be replaced.
