Last Muskoka run, we met up at the McD's in Orangeville there at Hwys 10 & 9 and convoyed from there.
We can do Southwood Road, and I've got a couple of other ideas to add yet.
Even better if Muskoka Minute could join us, it's his backyard.

Toppy986 09-18-2016 04:50 AM

Steve, I would like to join you guys, but already have plans for next Sunday, hopefully next time I can make it.
Jeff

Giller 09-21-2016 03:41 AM

We are up to 3 Pcars....anyone else want to join the convoy? Looks like it's going to be a great day for some twisty roads with the top down!

Heiko 09-21-2016 04:06 AM

Would love to join you guys but I'm cruising the roads in New Hampshire around Mount Washington :)

Muskoka Minute 09-21-2016 08:51 AM

I think I should be able to make it if I get my sons car fixed.

Here is a google map link of a run that you might like.

It is approx. 2 hours and approx. 140k
I figured to leave from tims in Bracebridge (I put homedepot) they are beside each other.
Either have lunch in Port Carling or Windermere.
Back down to Bracebridge.
This can be extended or shortened.

Here is the link. Hope it works.

The Loop is correct but the written directions are not in order.

Cheers!
Bart

BoxsterSteve 09-21-2016 12:06 PM

Bart,
Thanks for the link.
Hope you can join us.

Muskoka Minute 09-21-2016 03:48 PM

What time do you think you'll be in Bracebridge?
Or are you thinking of coming this far?

BoxsterSteve 09-22-2016 03:26 PM

Looking at 10:30 ETA in Bracebridge, according to Mapquest.
Are you good to run with us, Bart? Looking forward to getting out.

Muskoka Minute 09-22-2016 03:28 PM

Won't know until Saturday night.
We are working on the car tomorrow and sat.
Let's touch base Saturday night.
Cheers

Giller 09-22-2016 07:15 PM

If you can't make it, we'll most likely still do the run you posted. The loops itself looks to be around a 2 hour drive? If so, that would put us back in Bracebridge around lunch time. Any suggestions as to good places to eat?

I'm going to try and meet you guys on Sunday.
Did you say that you would be 10:30 at Tim Horton's?

You have a few option's for lunch....
You could stop in Windermere which would be around noon.

In Bracebridge you have Boston Pizza, Nick's, The Old Station.

If you like Boston Pizza I would head to Gravenhurst and take Muskoka Beach Rd down. This is a nice Rd to drive also, and its in the right direction.

Here is a good run that will take us from Home Depot/Tim Hortons in Bracebridge to Boston Pizza in Gravenhurst.

Can someone give me a call to confirm the meet time?

Cheers!

robbiex1 09-23-2016 08:30 AM

Hey guys, I'm interested, where and when exactly are we meeting in the GTA?

Giller 09-23-2016 11:07 AM

Hey Robbie. Plan right now is BoxsterSteve and I are meeting up in Orangeville around 8am and then heading up to Bracebridge, hopefully to connect with Muskoka.

Not sure where you are and where a good spot would be. Steve - are we taking the back roads or heading right over to the 400 to go North?

I'm sure we can find a spot on the 400 somewhere where we could meet up?

robbiex1 09-23-2016 11:16 AM

Thanks I'm not sure about the timing. I'll talk to the family tonight to see if I can swing this. I'm in Markham so could either go west to meet or meet up there. Do you plan on taking interesting roads on the way North or just the 400?

BoxsterSteve 09-23-2016 11:32 AM

Via Hwy 9 & 11 is 2 hours from Orangeville to Bracebridge.
Via Hwy 400 & 118 is over 2 1/2 hours and and extra 50-60 km.
I'm good with either, but it will obviously affect Bracebridge ETA if we go the scenic route.
To avoid highways altogether takes you via Minden and Carnarvon, a bit too far out of the way, methinks.

Giller 09-23-2016 12:49 PM

Most of the interesting roads will be in the Muskoka's. Normally getting there is half the fun, but in this case, the plan is to get there as quick as possible and THEN let the fun begin!

COJO 09-24-2016 03:48 AM

Hello Guys. I am In Barrie and would enjoy a ride if you are open to another guest. THX

BoxsterSteve 09-24-2016 04:37 AM

Cojo
Please join us if you can.
Meet at 10:30 at the Horton's in Bracebridge near the Home Depot just off Hwy. 11.
Giller and I are coming from a pretty good distance, so if we're not exactly dead on 10:30, just sit tight. PM me and I'll send my phone number.

Giller 09-24-2016 11:02 AM

We are taking Hwy 9 over to the 400 and then North through Barrie and up Hwy 11 to Bracebridge. If you are anywhere near/on that route, feel free to join is.
Timeline:
8:15 - leave Orangeville
8:45 ish - junction of Hwy 9 and the 400. If anyone from TO area wants to join in, that's a good spot
9:15 ish - north of Barrie where 400 and Hwy 11 splits off. Gore road looks to have some stuff where we could meet up
10:30 ish - Timmies in Bracebridge

All times are approx. If you want to join, feel free to PM me your cell and we can text you when we are close so we can all travel together.

Cheers!

Muskoka Minute 09-24-2016 04:42 PM

Yes Guys...Thanks for a great day on the road.
Lets do it again soon.....and I hope it's not next year.
Sorry you had to take off before we hit our destination.

Cheers!
Bart

Giller 09-25-2016 04:30 PM

Good day today guys! Especially nice to meet some really great, fellow PCar owners.

Thanks Bart for leading the group through those fantastic Muskoka twisties. I've never been through twisties like that at that speed before - was very exhilarating! Loved it!

Rob, hopefully you didn't get into too much trouble and are allowed out to play again.

And Cory - what happened man? Did you take off and join all those Exotic cars for the cruise home? I wouldn't blame you one bit if you did.

COJO 09-25-2016 04:49 PM

Lol yes I circled back to get some pics for my kids to see.

Its was a pleasure meeting all today and look forward to more runs!!

BoxsterSteve 09-25-2016 05:32 PM

Gents,
Thanks for the experience, and Bart especially for his amazing choice of twisty Muskoka roads to enjoy.
Cheers all.
Got to do this again!

2017 planning

Boys....we gonna get out again this year? We should start planning a spring run, maybe down this way, and then we can do the fall run up north when the colours change.

Muskoka Minute 02-11-2017 06:56 AM

Count us in.
Let us know where and when.
As long as we don't have to drive through snow to get there. Lol
Cheers Bart

We could start with that Hamilton/Dundas Escarpment run again, or the follow the PCA drive we did down toward Niagara. Still have the route map for that one.

dulmer 02-11-2017 09:01 AM

Hey Guys,

I'd be interested in meeting/joining you on a spring run. I'm itching to get my car out of storage!

What is this storage thing you speak of ?

dulmer 02-14-2017 06:30 AM

Haha, nice! I have a company car, so rather have it go through the winter and keep my baby on a salt-free diet!
