Center Caps - what Porsche are thes from?
My car is an 03 986S. The center caps on my Sport a Design wheels had faded and the color was gone. Can't believe what Porsche charged for these plastic pieces
This year I bought a set at the Hershey swap meet. Not from a Boxster, they're metal. But one was loose and it fell off my car. Grrr. Can anyone identify the Porsche these came on so that I can search eBay in the hope that I can buy a singleton?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1465683820.jpg |
What's the part number on the back? Looks like the caps that ran on the 993 series.
Personally I just put a set of the $20 eBay caps on both my Boxster and 911 recently. They're in the 9x7/9x1 generation style, plastic, but for the price they look great. |
I just looked and there is no part number that I can see
It's not particularly clear in the picture but these have a little color - the non-black squares are outlined in red and have a tinge of yellow. And as I said they are metal They also lack the two holes present in some caps so that you can remove them without taking the tire off |
Hello,
i would say this is not an original Porsche badge and center cap. The OEM one look different. The red part of the flag is always filled with color, if they are colored. Colored means golden. Also the OEM ones have 2 holes to pull them from the rim. http://www.turbosition.com/_files/po...-evolution.jpg Regards, Markus |
It's most likely from an early 928 with the 16" "manhole cover" wheels. May be from a 944 with similar wheels.
They are original Porsche center caps. I have a bunch of them in my parts stash. |
Redtele58 -- any interest in parting with one from your stash?
