which side vent do you like better

I need your help in deciding which side vent treatment to put on my car for the Porsche parade next week. Louvered or stock. I'm including a couple of other pictures of the car so you can get an idea of the look I'm going for.(or see more pics in Show and tell)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1465609392.jpg

The louvered one

VGM911 06-10-2016 06:00 PM

Stock...the others look ugly (sorry!). :o

911monty 06-10-2016 06:17 PM

The stock, only painted silver to match. Would look quite similar to the louvered IMHO.

Giller 06-10-2016 06:22 PM

None of those pictured.....the louvered ones are fugly IMO. Painted to match stock ones are perfect.

Agree, but the original concept drawings for the car had the shark gills look.

CHRISP357 06-10-2016 07:02 PM

Stock for sure.

I find your car very interesting to look at, it rewards a long look. Thanks for sharing.

I think that the louvred look is a real statement. It has a hand crafted feel to it that's in line with the rest of the cars styling I think?

Jthoms1 06-11-2016 02:00 AM

Stock.....not a fan of the louvered.

I'd say the one that is already on it so you don't have to spend less time driving. The car is a great tribute and the gills have an appeal that grows on me.

I like both looks, but for this car's theme, I'm 100% for this:

because it better follows this:

You will overheat....

....if you run that louvered one on the passenger side.

The passenger side is NOT an intake. It is an exhaust. It vents engine heat OUT.

You are trying too hard.

Nice concept Boxster wheels, however.

Tcar 06-11-2016 05:26 PM

Yep, louvers are facing the wrong way on the right side, as 10 said

gomarlins3 06-11-2016 06:51 PM

Stock body colored.

I originally wanted to do reversed louvers like the 718 but I knew I needed air, I never thought of doing two different ones( duh). I really appreciate all the honest responses , that's what I was hoping for. I'm 90% sure I'm going to repaint the black bezels body color and leave the fins gold . I'll post pics when done.

I have a 99 replaced them with those off 03-04. I like the louvered ones. Hey wassup with those rear lights? Care to share?

I made covers out of fiberglass, moved the reverse lights to LEDs in the license plate bolts. ( see more under show and tell " my prototype inspired project")

The two tone side vents look nice....Now, where did you find the cool Speedster hump?

993turbo 10-03-2020 02:38 AM

I have the original Porsche Tequipment Speedster hoops on mine. Love them!
