2002 Base Immobilizer Issue

I have a 2002 986 Base that I have owned for 5 years. After going through most systems, the last thing that doesn't work right is the locking system/alarm. When I bought the car, it had a manual switch for the frunk. There is no function of the door locking with key or on the dash and alarm system is not functional. The one key does cause the dashboard light to blink when button pushed while in acc mode, but nothing else.

Today I pulled the driver's seat to check the fuse on the immobilizer and the fuse is missing. Put in a fuse and there was no change. Car does start and run fine. I see the sets with the DME, Immobilizer, ignition, door lock and keys available on ebay. Is that the best way to go or can I work with what I have? I do not see any prior water damage. Obviously, prior owner has pulled the fuse for some reason.

If I buy the set, is it straightforward, as in disconnect battery, swap DME, Immobilizer, Ignition, door lock--reconnect battery and all is well??
