New Boxster want wheels Oh Please Help!!!

Hi good people,

New to this forum... HELLO!!.

Now, my point... I have a decision to make. I have a silver 987 s and I want a new set of wheels.

Choice is between: 18" ti finish oz alleggerita or 19" silver borbet MC

Two very different choices, the borbet more OEM looking but sacrificing ride for looks (there is no chance a 19 is much better performing than an 18 on battered uk roads) or the oz, very light and, as I have 18's currently, may feel a little more sprightly.

I will be fitting my favourite tyre the uniroyal rainsport 3 to either choice (please don't overtake the wheel debate with the inevitable tyre debate, no 'n' rating, who are uniroyal etc, etc).

Cat... Pigeons...

Welcome. Hugely personal preference but I like the Oz look more. As much as I love my 19" SSR rims my research has shown me that tires are more expensive than the 18" equivalent. Not a big deal till you consider Boxsters eat rear tires for lunch.

Thank you TypeA,

Yes, I'm sliding toward the oz's. In reality there is less than £100 difference for a set of four boots so doesn't sway me.

I enjoy the handling on the 18's, I've felt the limit and its far enough away for me to rarely reach. I'm not sure the 19's would offer me much more than aesthetics but then again I think I prefer the look of the oz anyway.

Unfortunately they are almost twice the cost of the borbets.

One vote for the OZ's.
