Battery or Fuse Issues?
Hello, I own a 2001 Boxster. The battery was dead after sitting for the winter. I have replaced the battery, and upon trying to start the car, there are no lights working. The only thing that happens is the fan turns on. Could this be a blown fuse when I put the new battery on?
Thanks! |
The voltage of the battery? The post are snug to the cables? The positives and negatives are the same as the battery you removed? Tip or Stick? Wiggled the steering wheel? Clutch in? Neutral or park? The key turns to the accessory position? To the start position? And signs of rodents?

Didn't try the steering wheel. Everything else looks good. No rodents. Before the new battery, the lights would light up and I heard a clicking sound and the windows went up and down about an inch. Now, nothing but the fan blowing and I can turn the headlights on. That's about it. Could I have blown a fuse when I installed the new battery?

Any chance the immobilizer (under the driver's seat) got wet?

When you say fan, heat/AC fan or cooling fan? If AC fan, I had similar situation. Try pulling 20A and 7.5A fuses for heat/AC and see what happens. In my case, it was a short in climate unit.

Thanks. Nothing got wet, as it's been in the garage.
I will try the fuses this weekend. It's the heating/cooling fan. |
