2001 Boxster 3 button keys
I was wondering if anyone knew of a website in the USA or a store front in Northern California that performs Porsche key repairs. The buttons on my keys no longer function, even after changing out the batteries. I would like to avoid a Porsche dealer due to costs if at all possible. I believe the circuit boards in my keys just gave out. The keys still start the car.

It might be the circuit board or it could be the microswitches. I have 2 fobs and one had a faulty door lock switch, the trunk & frunk switches were ok. I sourced a replacement and soldered in a new switch. Quite easy actually.
Do a search on fob microswitches since there are a couple of threads here on the subject. |
Soldering in a new micro switch is dead easy as said. Consider this first!

Does any one know source for the micro switches? I did the search and Mouser electronics now only sells minimum quantity of 2700 switches and they could not recommend a retailer either.
For me, the lock/unlock micro switch fell and did not work after re-soldering. So I moved the trunk micro switch to lock/unlock. However, I can't open the trunk using key any more. I would love to buy the new micro switch and replace all three of them. Thanks, Jay |
eBay sells the switches individually very cheap.
