Dead battery trunk release solution
 

This looks like a good product to keep in the cubby storage compartment or side pockets.
Otherwise you have to route that trunk release cable or hope the battery goes down when you're at home with an extra battery pack and 2 jumper cables, Unless you drive around with that all the time.

This is actually a good product. Not so much for jump starting but to power up accessories when on the go. Lastly when the need comes when the battery dies you have a solution.

I used a Phillips screwdriver and touched the point to the center of the cigarette lighter and connected the negative of my charger to the door jamb....worked like a charm....the pull out thingee in the fuse box would not do anything

You are brave and must have steady hands to be able to do this. I wouldn't recommend this procedure to anyone unless it's an emergency and no other option available.

For me this product can do double duty. Keeps my devices charged when on the go and maybe power up the car just to open the trunks when the need comes. As far as using it to jump start I don't think 10 minutes plugged in is enough time to jump start the car. It's also safe to use for the clumsy ones.

Why ?
 

Direct line to battery, a piece of heat shrink over the shaft of the screwdriver insulated it fine. Since then I took an old Cigarette lighter cord and made a jig just for this...can be used in most cars

How does that product work?
Charge it, plug it into the lighter and you can jump start the car when the battery is dead?
